What Equipment Do I Need for Working Out at Home?

I don’t mean an epic garage gym (although I can speak about that as well! Let me know if that’s something you’re interested in!) I am talking about basic home equipment you can stow in the closet between workouts. If you’re on the home plan for the Strength for Every Body Monthly Programming club, here is my list of recommended equipment.

Recommended Mobility Gear

Full-Size Foam Roller

Lacrosse Ball

Lifting Equipment

Some type of sturdy ottoman, chair or bench. If you are looking to invest in a weight bench for your home, I recommend something like:

Dumbbells or Kettlebells

If you are a beginner, I recommend a set of 10’s, 15’s and 25’s to start. If you are more advanced, you probably know what you want ;-)

Adjustable dumbbells are cool and storage-friendly, but they take time to switch weights:

Dumbbells are easy to find used, easy to flip as you grow out of weights, but take up more space to store:

Bands for the upper and lower body.

These are a must. Bonus points if you have a place in your home to attach them (but it is not required). If you can only get one thing, I recommend getting a set of long bands followed by hip circle bands.
